At Locust Grove Elementary, we strive to provide rigorous and relevant instruction to establish lifelong learners and critical thinkers through communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
Focus: ON - Promoting Distraction-Free Learning Environments
Beginning for the 2025-2026 school year, HCS students in grades K-12 are not permitted to display or use a cell phone, smartwatch, or other electronic communication device on school property during the school day.
STEM for All
HCS is cultivating a dynamic learning environment that includes offering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) educational opportunities across all grades.
Pre-K Registration
Henry County Schools' application window to enter the Pre-K Lottery for school year 2026-2027 will be open Jan. 26 - Feb. 6, 2026.

Clubs & Organizations: Discover Your Passion at Locust Grove Elementary! We offer a wide variety of clubs and organizations to inspire and engage our students.
We Proudly recognize our Teacher of the Year: Ms. Felicia Edmonds and our ESPY: Ms. Jacqueline Little for their dedication, passion, and outstanding contributions.
Locust Grove Elementary was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for being 2023-2024 Masters of Mathematics. We are a school that is focused on elevating achievement for students through mathematics and we challenge and inspire young minds through our Advanced Math program for qualifying 3rd-5th grade students.
At LGE, we are utilizing structured literacy to deliver instruction based on the science of reading to ensure that all students will be able to read on or above grade level. With tools such as Amira, iReady, Writable, and HMH resources we are providing students with instruction catered to their needs.
Locust Grove Elementary enriches student learning with exciting weekly specials including STEM, Spanish, Music, Art, and PE. These programs inspire creativity and ensure a well-rounded and engaging educational experience for every child.
Through wellness activities, resources, parent meetings, individual and small group sessions, and a dedicated CARE TEAM, we ensure every student has a caring person in the building to meet their needs.
